DAKOTA PLAINS CREDIT UNION
Position: Ag/Commercial Loan Officer (1 position)
Location: Ellendale, ND
Qualifications:
• Comprehensive understanding of Ag/Commercial lending
• Ability to analyze and underwrite credits
• Ability to oversee and evaluate the entire loan portfolio
Experience Required:
• Bachelors degree in Business, Ag Economics, FInance or Other Related Field
• Familiar with FSA, BND, SBA is preferred
• Previous experience in financial services or banking industry preferred
• Proven track record in loan origination and loan processing
• Strong knowledge of loan officer duties and responsibilities
Key skills:
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficient in 10-key typing and basic math skills
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Managing and growing an existing loan portfolio within credit union and regulatory policy
• Collect and verify financial information and documentation from applicants
• Analyze applicant's financial status, credit history, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
• Fostering relationships with new and existing members
• Preparing credit presentations for review at Loan Committee
• Making credit decisions independently and as part of a loan committee
• Review loan agreements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Document loan advances, application of proceeds and tracking loan payments
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and changes in lending regulations
• Reports to Loan Manager and/or CEO
• Work with branch manager, mortgage lenders and consumer loan officers to provide solutions and products
• Engage in communities within the field of membership to positively promote the credit union
As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals secure financing for their various needs.
You will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, determining creditworthiness, and guiding borrowers through the loan application process.
Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of lending policies will be key to your success in this role.
