This position will plan, direct, coordinate and/or supervise the delivery of supply chain services provided by the Materials Management department.
Responsibilities include:
Supervise the Materials Management department staff by interviewing, selecting, training, assigning work and appraising performance and competencies to ensure that the department meets its goals and objectives.
Act as a resource to department personnel and other hospital departments in matters such as purchasing procedures and product detail.
Devise methods and policies ensuring the most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of the hospital.
Stay informed on all new developments relative to materials and supplies, and make decisions designed to reduce costs and improve methods.
Prepare materials/supplies purchase orders, analyze quotations, and expedite deliveries and shipments.
Work with inventory control technicians and department directors to coordinate requisitioning, ordering, distribution of materials, supplies and equipment.
Control ordering and requisitioning process to ensure inventory levels of supplies are in keeping with usage.
Review the departmental plan for services as it relates to departmental, divisional, and organizational policies and procedures.
Coordinate departmental quality improvement/management program through the development of a departmental plan, ongoing monitoring and evaluation, ensuring staff participation in the process and utilization of identified outcomes for opportunities for improvement in services rendered.
Maintain compliance with requirements for accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Develop, monitor, and review the department operating, productivity and capital budget assuring cost effective use of expenditures.
Serve as the representative for purchasing/material management in Vizient and CAPTIS, including a direct role in contract operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications - Certification in approved materials management program (AHRMM).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Materials Management or related field.
Three years of experience in purchasing and inventory control.
Hospital environment experience preferred.
Supervisory experience required.
